Dr. Nguyen Nguyen
Dr. Nguyen Nguyen was born and raised in Vietnam and immigrated to the United States in 2005. She went to college in Boston and then attended the Medical College of Virginia’s Dental School at VCU. After graduating she did a general dentistry residency in Worchester, MA.
During her time in dental school, she volunteered with the Mom Project, Give Kids a Smile, and she has been very involved in the Vietnamese community. She hopes to get involved in the Vietnamese community locally here in Virginia.
Dr. Nguyen was first interested in dentistry after she completed college. She was working in a medical lab at a cancer institute but wasn’t feeling completely fulfilled. She wasn’t getting the personal contact with other people that she really desired. A friend of hers mentioned that she was going to dental school and Dr. Nguyen’s interest was piqued. After doing some research, she applied to dental school and was immediately excited about how the field ties together science, art, business, and people! When asked what her favorite part of the dental field is, Dr. Nguyen answers, “Everything!”
Dr. Nguyen describes herself as a little bit introverted and extroverted. She is interested in things that are unique or out of the ordinary, and she has a very innocent sense of humor. In her spare time, you can find Dr. Nguyen painting, doing DIY projects, or watching movies. A fun fact about Dr. Nguyen is that she loves to express herself with her earrings and she enjoys singing.
Dr. Vikram Pole
Dr. Vikram Pole grew up in the suburbs of northern Virginia. He spent his childhood playing in parks and creeks near his home.
He attended the University of Virginia for his undergraduate degree and went on to the University of Pittsburgh School of Dental Medicine for his Doctor of Dental Medicine degree. Dr. Pole completed a general practice residency at St. Francis Hospital and Medical Center in Hartford, Connecticut.
He is trained in Six Month Smiles® and ClearCorrect. He has been involved in many volunteer events in the past including Give Kids A Smile, Ronald McDonald House, Children’s Hospital, and Bethlehem Haven.
Dr. Pole was first drawn to dentistry as a child when his brother fell on his face and cracked his front teeth. It was a frightening experience thinking that his brother would never be able to smile, bite food, or play the saxophone the same way ever again. Over the course of a few months, his dental professional reattached his front teeth and worked with his smile to restore it back to normal. Dr. Pole viewed it as a miracle and was immediately drawn to the field.
He spent time in college volunteering in various dental offices and his passion solidified. He knows that teeth are very important to one’s health, well-being, and confidence. He wants to be able to give people the best smile possible through “state-of-the-art dentistry and compassionate care.” Dr. Pole enjoys dentistry the most when he is able to help his patients achieve their dental goals and discover what a difference a healthy smile can make.
Our dentist describes himself as caring, gentle, mild-mannered, and fun-loving. In his spare time, Dr. Pole can be found traveling and learning more about different cultures and foods. He enjoys cooking, teaching, and video games.
Dr. Pole is a member of the Northern Virginia Dental Society.
